- (ca. 1530-1574)military figureCaptain of the scottish Guard, de Lorges, count de Montgomery, accidentally caused the death of King henry II during a tournament (1559). After some time spent in England, he returned to France to become the leader of the huguenot forces (1562). Trying to hold La Rochelle (1574), he was defeated at Domfront and was condemned and executed.
